Success Story:

Success Story"Like Loaves and Fishes, Faith in Action Projects Multiply at Zillah Nazarene!"

Zillah Nazarene Church in Zillah, Washington is a church of only 160 members and attendees. Zillah itself is a small town of about 2,500 people, but the church "found a lot of needs to cover" on its Faith in Action Day, said pastor Eric Stilwell.

Zillah Nazarene began the Faith in Action concept in specially created small groups. "Within these groups, we began to build a greater sense of family," Pastor Eric explained. "These groups also led out in the various service projects."

With 130 people participating, the church was able to complete a variety of projects, the list of which just seemed to keep on growing. One group met at the Zillah Food Bank to package bulk food products, rearrange and organize the shelves, and prepare the food bank for the cold months to come...Read More

Service Project Idea:

Caregiver Kit Build

Assemble kits containing essential health care items, including soap, washcloths and latex gloves. These are critical items for those in poor communities working to care for some of the tens of millions who are suffering because of AIDS. Kits are sent to equip volunteer AIDS caregivers in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Assembling Caregiver Kits is an effective, hands-on way to:
  • Show Christ’s unconditional love to those suffering from AIDS
  • Equip caregivers with a year’s worth of the practical materials they need
  • Encourage caregivers to continue caring selflessly for their neighbors
  • Draw your church closer together by serving those in need

Faith in Action Small Group Curriculum

http://putyourfaithinaction.org

When small groups in your church participate in Faith in Action, members are transformed as they learn to "put feet to their faith." Four weeks of study and fellowship culminate in a final day devoted to service to others. With so many ways to serve - in your local community, in national service programs, or globally - people inside and outside your church will be changed as your groups serve as an act of worship, offering a helping hand in Jesus' name.
